The Stations of the Cross Lavey

Fr Packie McLaughlin CC Lavey at that time asked some local parishioners to make him a set of Stations of the Cross. The parishioners made the stations and adamantly refused any money for their work and materials. Fr McLaughlin created a millennium garden at the back of the parochial house to commemorate the year 2000 ad. He put the stations on posts around the edge of the garden and had a metal entrance gate made with a millennium sign at the top. The gate is still there to this day. After his death in 2011, the stations, some of which needed repair, were removed from the garden and were safely stored in an old parochial shed.

Fr Patrick Baker PP Lavey, was asked by a parishioner if it would be possible to place the stations in the 'new' graveyard. Although not placed where preferred, he thankfully did so and we are very grateful to him.
